Lemoyne star

Inspired by the mini in the book I mentioned in my post before I started drawing a small Lemoyne star.

Because this mini quilt has so many Y seams I decided to handpiece it.

 Lovely progress....

and a lovely background :-)

What's left is the border. I cut some pieces already but I'm not satisfied.. hmmm
Need to dig in my closet again.

To be continued....

Dat is een leuke kleine. Sterren blijven voor mij wel favoriet en je achtergrondstof is lief;)

I do love Lemoyne stars. Your colors are wonderfully soft and pretty. I can't wait to see what you choose for the border. I am working on my own hand pieced star blocks and have finished over 100 now.

That is the nice thing about having a stash, having choices at your fingertips.

Beautiful stars and love the colours. I'm doing an English Paper pieced star quilt in dark colours and enjoying it too.

Beautiful. Reminds me of the quilts that my mother and my Aunt Matt used to make. Thanks for bringing that memory to me today

This is stunning! I've just gone back to some handpiecing and I'm loving the process..much calmer and slower than sitting at the machine.

The small stripe background gives a very vintage look to your star piece.

Lovely Lemoyne stars! Have you ever tried Inklingo? The reason I ask is that I believe their free demo download is for Lemoyne stars. I keep meaning to do more with it but can't seem to find the time.

Happy stitching,

Those are just too precious. I can see where hand piecing would be the ticket here. Your fabrics are lovely, and I love how you took your color cue from the vintage illustration. What a great idea.
